SWPC uses a sophisticated physics-based model called WSA-Enlil to propagate space weather activity from the sun to the Earth. This model output is one source of guidance to forecasters as they issue official products including watches, warnings, and alerts. For an animation of solar wind resulting from the activity starting on August 14, please see the WSA-Enlil model web page.
