G1-G2 (Minor-Moderate) Geomagnetic Storms In Progress

G1-G2 (Minor-Moderate) Geomagnetic Storms In Progress
published: Saturday, November 07, 2015 22:58 UTC

The interplanetary shock that arrived at Earth at 06/1825 UTC (1325 EST) resulted in a disturbed solar wind environment. An enhanced magnetic field, coupled with winds speeds approaching 700 km/s have produced G1-G2 (Minor-Moderate) geomagnetic storms at Earth. Aurora viewing might be possible in the extreme northern portion of the US.
