G1 conditions still possible

G1 conditions still possible
published: Thursday, November 05, 2015 04:55 UTC

G1-Minor geomagnetic storm conditions continue in response to elevated solar wind speeds associated with a coronal hole high speed stream.  The anticipated effects from the coronal hole began around 03/0810 UTC (3 Nov 0310 EDT) and are expected to continue periodically through the first part of 5 November.  Solar wind velocities are in excess of 600 km/s and the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) is enhanced enough that any sustained deviation of the IMF into a southward direction could escalate conditions up to G1-Minor storm levels. Stay tuned here for updates.
